The third annual Northeast Ohio Conflict Resolution 青年学术研讨会 for high school students (grades 8 through 12) and 你th educators focuses on empowering 你th to be agents of positive change in their schools, 社区, 这个世界. This symposium will emphasize the role of social emotional learning in helping to develop 你th with the capacity to utilize conflict resolution and dialogue skills to address the critical social justice issues in their schools and in the community.

Registration is open until 2月1日st, or until space is filled.
Registration is $10 for students and $15 for adults. High schools are encouraged to sponsor a group of 10-15 students and 2-3 adults.

You can earn an Upstander Certificate by attending this event! 作为青年研讨会的一部分, a special 停止仇恨 track will be offered for students who participated in the Maltz Museum's 停止仇恨 essay contest. All 6th - 12th grade students who submitted an essay are eligible to attend the symposium at no cost, 如果空间允许的话. Seats will be filled on a first come first serve basis. If 你 are interested in attending the symposium, and space has filled 你 may add 你r name to a waiting list to be notified if space opens or when similar programming is announced. This year our goal is to have students and schools lead many of the breakout sessions, sharing what 你 正在做… promote positive change in 你r school, community, or the world.
We are also requesting breakout session proposals from college students, 社区组织, and individual change agents focused on what is being done to promote positive change in Northeast Ohio.
Topic ideas include, but are not limited to addressing: 基于身份的歧视, 种族紧张和不平等, 枪支暴力, 性别暴力和不平等, 社会公正和环境, and social media's role in promoting positive social change.

- How we effectively lead change for a more socially just community and society.
- Leadership development focused on social justice and civic engagement.

- New strategies and approaches for building sustainable programs to address microaggressions, 仇恨言论, bullying and other dehumanizing and violent behaviors.

- Program coordinators and educators who work with high school-aged 你th and are interested in social justice and community building.
- Anyone interested in working with 你th to make positive change in schools and the community at large.
A 2-hour educators' program will take place concurrently with the 青年学术研讨会.
